One thing I haven’t been able to understand very well is how Australian’s refer to coffee. In the US we’d order black coffee or coffee with cream. In Australia, they order coffee white or coffee black. I don’t want “white” in my coffee, I want cow juice.
Another example is espresso. They have espresso style coffee, they have espresso style beans, they sell espresso makers anywhere you’d shop for a microwave (and charge $2k like it’s a normal household appliance), yet if you order an “espresso” they look at you like you’re from Mars. An espresso is a “short black” – a “long black” is a normal coffee. I think I’ll stick to making my coffee at home.
Lol! Where are you ordering your coffee from? You can get espresso anywhere... :)
ReplyDeleteThat's the way they do it in Australia. In the U.S., that how you do it with your coffee. To each his own. When you go to Australia, you go with the flow. You'll be ordering them white coffee too.
