For friends and family not in Australia who have been wondering/worrying about if the floods they’re hearing about are effecting us –
Thankfully we are well clear of the actual flooded areas (note Sydney on the map). I’m hearing that an area twice the size of Texas is currently under water (?!) so all of Australia will feel some repercussions. There are major rivers in Queensland that flow inland, so even if we started having nice weather from now on, it will be months before all that water gets to where it’s going and things normalize.
