At the new place we don’t have a big back yard. In fact, you could say we don’t have any yard. Most of the back is a covered bricked area with a garden on the side. I’m sure when the garden was planted there was a plan. As you can see, it’s now pretty overgrown. From what I’ve been able to tell, there are different levels to the garden as it goes back. The trick will be thinning out some of the extra plants without disturbing the ones we keep too much.
One of the big negatives for the space is the height of the covered area is a little bit on the short side. I’m learning – I have a couple ridges and a slight concussion from smacking my head on the support beam.
We’ve started putting out some wild bird seed in an attempt to attract some birds like we had at the old place. Yesterday was the first time we saw a cockatoo stop by. When we got home from work today, all the seed was gone, so the word must be spreading. Maybe this weekend we’ll get to see what we’re attracting.
Still looks very nice. Plenty of plant life and stuff.
ReplyDeleteOn Friday, I saw a half dozen cockatoos and a lorikeet (and some finch type birds) - so not a bad start.
ReplyDeleteGood luck and it looks like it has a lot of potential to become a great garden!
