I agree. In my opinion, Obama isn’t all that far away from where Reagan was, but the rest of the political spectrum has shifted right.

Why is this wet?

Around 4:30 I joked that we had to go home – it was starting to storm and Taz (the corgi with the back injury) is terrified of storms. We didn’t get home for another 4 hours. We noticed the power had reset by the flashing clock, but we’d heard there were blackouts in our suburb.

I’ve told John many times to make sure he keeps his computer against the wall because when Taz gets scared he tries to crawl behind the table where all the power cords are. Sure enough, he’d moved it out and not moved it back again. We noticed that somehow all the power cords had been pulled out of the wall jacks.

We plugged the power strip back in… ok, now all the outlets were dead. Previously, Taz had managed to loosen the plugs in the power strip until they sparked and caused the circuit to blow, so I started pulling all the individual plugs out so we could add them back one by one when the circuit was reset.

That’s when I noticed the power strip was wet.

This time he’d crawled behind the table, and I’m not sure in what order, managed to unplug the power strip from the wall… and piss himself. I’m guessing the pissing came before the cord came out of the wall because there’s a scorch mark on the power strip. Thank you landlord for installing that GFI. The power strip has been replaced, the pee wiped up, and the circuit reset. I think (hope) John will remember to keep his computer snug against the wall from now on.
